Office casual took on a whole new twist at HVE today. Staff were challenged to sport their finest holiday knitwear and decorate their desks to ring in the Holiday Season. This challenge was taken very seriously by many and picking a winner took great effort. However in the end...
Best Dressed...
Shannon D., shone a-head of the rest (ha ha) with a Christmas tree with lights on her head.
Best Desk Decoration...
Nita's beautiful home made decorations and theme made her desk the coziest, while Finance tied with Nita, for the best overall theme and decorations.
Thank you to Monica, Elisa and Sulakshi for organizing and setting up today's events, including a Holiday High Tea/Desserts served in the boardroom today.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS to everyone from HVE!

Last night, HVE celebrated it's annual staff Holiday Party, and it was their biggest event yet, at over 100 strong!
This year HVE has many things to be grateful for, but the theme of last night's celebration was to recognize those staff who have helped HVE become the company it is today.
HVE is proud to have some very tenured staff among it's ranks.
Here are some of the anniversaries celebrated last night...
Antonella Cugliari, celebrates 15 years with HVE. Antonella has moved through the ranks at HVE, juggling many balls, wearing many hats, and making it seem almost effortless. Antonella is now a valued member of our Management Team.
Anne Fantauzzi, celebrates 10 years with HVE. Anne is the voice and smiling face at the forefront of HVE's busiest office. Her ability to turn chaos into calm is unmatched.
Simone Sabelli, celebrates 10 years with HVE. Simone is our Manager of File Review and Roster. She has been instrumental in building many of HVE's internal processes, and is valued for her dedication, passion and committment to her craft.
Monica Samaniego, also celebrates 10 years with HVE. Monica's natural ability to lead and inspire those around her have made her a valued Manager. As our Manager of Client Services, she uses this ability to ensure our customer's needs always exceed expectation.
HVE is proud to have these people as part of our team, plus many more who have dedicated so much to HVE.
For many years, HVE has supported SickKids Hospital through their Holiday Card Program. Proceeds from the sale of cards help to support the children and their families at SickKids. This year the program is supporting the Play Park and patient amentities. Other ongoing projects supported by the foundation include, Bravery Beads, Birthday Cakes for inpatient children, and soft cloth dolls given to children to provide comfort.
HVE is proud to support SickKids again this holiday season.
"Mr. Skeleton" is well known around the office. Since it was Halloween, we thought we would let him make an appearance on the website. He is pretty handy to have hanging around.

As part of our day to day operations, it is important for our staff to understand the primary medical specialities we offer. Specifically what the speciality entails, and what speciality is appropriate to book for an assessment. We assembled this document and have included it as part of our general training. It is a useful reference document, and one we felt was worthy to share.
As part of our ongoing training and development, this SABS Overview was developed as a reference document for all staff. Our staff found it extremely helpful. We thought we would share.
HVE’s Performance Manager, Elise Weingarten is proud to announce the successful completion of the required independent audit for ISO9001:2008 Quality Management re-certification. On August 27, 2015 the Ontario Legislature released the regulation with the changed definition for Catastrophic Impairment determination which will affect those in accidents on or after June 1, 2016 or when their policy renews thereafter, whichever is later. As part of HVE's preparation for dealing with these upcoming changes, our Director, Gayle Hertzman (who oversees our CAT program) prepared this overview and delivered a companywide training session.
